HOME VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
A companion for a person with Alzheimer’s
Dear Prospective Volunteer,
We are pleased that you are interested in volunteering at CGC (Caregivercare.)
Volunteers are one of this Parish and GCC’s greatest assets.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, fill out the volunteer application thoroughly, and email, mail, or fax it in as soon as possible. Once we review our application, we will contact you and arrange a phone interview to discuss how we can work together.
We ask that volunteers sign up for a minimum of five hours a week in the Volunteer Home Program. If you are interested in volunteering but would be unable to commit to these criteria, please get in touch with me and let me know so we can discuss the possibility of other opportunities.

If you intend to volunteer in this program, you have to offer a few hours a week to a family with a person with Alzheimer’s or other dementia at home. You will attend training. Then you will make companionship at home with your new friend.
When a person with Alzheimer’s lives at home, the family needs a lot of support. The patient could benefit from your companionship, and the family caregiver would take the chance to go out, rest or stay with them. Volunteers are unpaid.
A CGC member will manage volunteers and their responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Complete any and all duties as assigned by the volunteer coordinator;
• Complete entry-level volunteer training course
• Follow safety regulations at all times;
• Maintain organization confidentiality;
• Motivate others to get involved as well;
• Work with other volunteers on projects.
