1:30 PM – Lecture by Ruth Dolmo Montes de Carluccio M.D*

And a light, healthy meal by Restaurant San Matteo.

Between the First and the Second dish, Ruth will give a 15 minutes talk and, after it, eventually answer your questions. The topics will be: 1) Why to prefer white meat to red meat; 2) The positive effects of vegetables on the brain.

First dish. Summer rice salad with Gorgonzola, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, olives, red onion, fresh basil, fresh parsley, salt and pepper, olive oil, lemon juice, and rice. Second dish: Chicken “Cacciatore.”

*Medical doctor with teaching experience. Certified in Pedagogy for Health Sciences and Nutrition and Culinary Management. Patient care experience in hospital wards, ER, outpatient clinics and research projects

2:30 PM – “Speed Socializing”

In this program, you will sit down and interview the friend seated by you to find out more about him/her. A moderator will ask one of each pair to interview and use about 5 minutes for interviewing the friend about their background–names, family, languages, education, hobbies, memberships, etc.– and knowledge of participation in Caregivercare activities. The interviewers will then use the elicited information to introduce their friends.

 

4:00 PM. – A Poem by Jared Barkan:

Jared Barkan, our poet in residence, reads one of his poems entitled “Eternal Youth”. It’s a personal meditation on getting older, and yet at the same time remaining young. It ends with an amusing and unexpected twist.
