ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE: SUPPORT FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS

Gianni Perilli, president of Dementia Services New York, a foundation to support family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, will speak on Thursday, December 10th, at 7:00 p.m., at St. Thomas More Parish House, 65 East 89th Street.

Dr. Perilli’s goal is to increase community awareness on the differences between normal aging and Alzheimer’s; challenges and approaches in caring at home for a loved one diagnosed with the disease or some other form of dementia; and how a person of middle-age can approach aging in a more healthy manner. All interested in this vitally important topic are welcome to attend.

On Saturday, December 12th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, at the same location, Dr. Perilli will conduct a session providing support information specifically designed for caregivers of people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Attendance for the Saturday session is limited to 20 people; those wishing to attend must register by calling St. Thomas More Church at 212-876-7718.

Participants may attend either or both sessions. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
